Dawn & Jo will also tell you about the different types of networking available and help you to identify what type of networking is best for you and your business. We can also introduce you to business owners that you might work well with to help you to build your own contacts and peer support.

This course will cover established techniques of collecting and analysing this information, and using it to support decisions and strategy. It will also demonstrate how to present this information in a structured, meaningful way within the business plan.

Market, Competitor & Customer Analysis

Tuesday 26th January 2021 - 10am till 12:30pm

The Aim of this session is to look at the size of your market and give you the guidance and tools that you need to be able to analyse the market your business will operate in. We will then look at your competition in 3 different categories and use this information to help understand what you are up against.

We will help you to understand your customers wants and needs. Find out about why & when your customers are likely to buy. Discover where your product fills the need or what problem you solve. We will also look at the buying cycle and the ways you can engage different customers at different stages of the buying cycle.

The benefit of this session is that you will be able to see where your business idea sits in relation to what’s already available, you will be able to identify any threats to your potential business and also spot any opportunities that are not yet being catered for.

Finance for Business & Goal Setting

This will be an introduction to financial planning for business owners. We will help you understand your costs, write a survival budget and set some future income goals. We will also explain the tools available to help you with your book keeping and tax returns.

As each business has unique needs in terms of financial aspects, we will follow this session up with a one to one with either Dawn or Jo. We will use this one to one to help you understand fully the costs of your business in relation to the prices you will charge for your product or service. We will help you to work out how much you need to have coming in to meet the outgoings including taking income from the business. We can use all of this information to better understand the viability of your idea or support you in any changes you may need to make. Goal setting will be individual to you. It’s important to set short term goals as well as long term. You need to understand the steps involved in reaching these goals and also to monitor your progress to guarantee success.
