I left my job having worked within public service (for 18 years) in 2024 to take up other paid employment which didn’t work out. I didn’t know what to do or what I wanted to do with my career moving forward. Then I found Freedom Providers.

What I did know was that I wanted to help people as I had done all those years with my existing skills and having had the confidence to try something new and being self-employed I gave it a go safe in the knowledge that I had help from the Freedom Providers initiative and could go out there and achieve what I wanted whilst having flexible work life balance, job satisfaction and knowing that I was and still am making a difference to the communities I used to serve in a different way.

I used to wake up on a Monday morning not looking forward to going to work. How my life has changed becoming self-employed and being my own boss able to decide what I want to do and when. I’m more confident in myself have more choices in life and my business keeps on growing. It is true that hard work does pay off and is worth it. If anyone asked me if I’d made the right choice…yes I did, and do you have any regrets or do you miss your old job…no I don’t!
