The Student Language Bureau is an introductory agency for global recruiters and multilingual jobseekers.
For recruiters: We provide multilingual candidates for their internship, entry-level and part-time vacancies.
For jobseekers: We provide international work placements for students and graduates. Not only do we provide a jobs board, but we are a full support platform for our candidates.
Our idea originated from personal experiences. We wanted to use this experience to find a solution for jobseekers looking for work predominantly outside of the UK, and for recruiters looking for the best talent for their roles. We now provide a solution for recruiters who are looking for best-fit candidates for their junior positions, and a niche jobs board for candidates who are swamped by 1000s of unsuitable openings elsewhere!
We had just launched our website, it was during the very early stages of The SLB’s development when we approached Yorkshire in Business. We appreciated their help in reviewing our business plan and assisting with our application. Jenn Crowther came to visit us and kept close communication throughout, thank you again to her and the team for helping us secure support from Virgin Startup.
Virgin gave us a mentor Simon Barker. He has been a great help assisting us, particularly with our marketing approach. He introduced us to various software platforms, ways to save and manage time effectively and general advice on our vision. It was great to have a regular call with Simon as it forced us to take a step back and review our progress which you quite often forget to do when you are so busy.
The next step is new territory. We plan to develop our candidate reach and our recruiter portfolio. Watch this space!
